Bombay High Court Extends Duration Of Virtual Hearing Till June End

On 8th June 2021, The Bombay High Court decided that they shall continue using Online video conferencing mode for hearing matters till the first week of July 2021, taking in view the current situation of COVID19 in the state of Maharashtra. The committee has also directed the benches which currently were sitting for twice a week will now sit thrice a week till the time this order pertains. Permission has been granted the Principal District Judges to seek consultation with District Collectors before they take any call which depends on the situation in the state in accordance to order released by the Maharashtra Government. The Bombay High Court had decided to revert to virtual and hybrid mode of hearing cases from April 7 except for criminal cases of extreme urgency effective.

Virtual hearing of cases shall be continued till May 7 although physical filing of cases shall be permitted. Even during vacation, the Court was ordered to hear matters through video conference and this was arranged to be scheduled to continue till June 11.
