Gujarat High Court Asks State To Follow 3T Model For Tackling Third Covid-19 Wave

On 15th June 2021, The Gujarat High Court in the case of Suo Motu Versus State of Gujarat has asked the State to adopt the ‘3T Model’ to tackle the issue of the upcoming 3rd Wave of the Coronavirus. The 3T stands for “Testing, Tracing and Treatment”, which will be beneficial to prepare a well structured action plan to curb the pandemic. The 3T model will help in accordingly test people, then trace their possible contacts and then treat the patient with adequate plan of action, in order to save a larger public from the harmful effects of the third wave of the COVID 19 pandemic. The third wave is expected to come around October-November this year.

The court also took notice of the vaccination drive and asked the State Government to prioritise the vaccination of inmates of Old Age Homes, Juvenile Homes, Nari Sangrakshan Gruh and etc. It was observed by court that no action has been taken so far in this regard by the State except issuing the circular.
