Chhattisgarh High Court Seeks Response From Bar Council To Grant Financial Relief To Advocates During COVID 19 pandemic

On 29th June 2021, in the case of Suo Moto v. State Of Chhattisgarh,  The Chhattisgarh High Court asked the State Bar Council to send their response on the plea that seeks relief for the families of advocates, who were either infected with Coronavirus or have succumbed to it. The court has asked the council to file response on the steps that are being taken to render financial aid to the affected advocates and their families.

The court further ordered that the Bar Associations shall submit the list of lawyers who have succumbed to COVID 19 or are infected to it to the Bar Council as it was observed that no such list has been sent to the Bar Council yet. The Bar Association should also submit the list to the court, so that the appropriate actions can be taken for the welfare of the concerned parties.

The court has also asked the State Legal Service Authority to further extend the interim orders that have been passed by the High Courts and all other tribunals and courts.
